AFIA Actively Pursues Commodity Market Reform

Animal Agriculture Coalition Challenges FDA’s Stance on Growth Promotants in Feed
At a Jan. 5 meeting with Food and Drug Administration Deputy Commissioner Joshua Sharfstein, more than 20 representatives of the Animal Agriculture Coalition—of which the American Feed Industry Association’s Richard Sellers is vice chair, expressed serious concerns about FDA’s announced policy that approved growth-promotant animal drugs should be either changed to prevention claims or phased out.
