Announcing the Pet Food Regulatory and Technical Conference: Understanding Emerging Trends in the Pet Food Industry

ARLINGTON, VA – The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and the Poultry Protein & Fat Council (PPFC) will sponsor a Pet Food Regulatory and Technical Conference: Understanding Emerging Trends in the Pet Food Industry, Jan. 27-28, 2009, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. As a conference bonus all conference attendees will receive complimentary admission to the International Feed Expo (IFE)/International Poultry Expo (IPE). The trade show features more than 900 exhibitors displaying the latest products, services and technology for the pet food, poultry and feed sectors of the industry.

The Pet Food Regulatory and Technical Conference will begin at 1 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 27, prior to the opening of the International Feed Expo and the International Poultry Expo the following day. There will be two concurrent sessions, one addressing the rapidly changing regulatory environment and the other addressing technical issues related to the pet food industry. The session will continue Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 8-10 a.m. with a general session before the Expo kicks off later that day.

This premier event for the pet food industry features networking opportunities, informative sessions and roundtables such as:

• Global Regulation of Pet Food featuring: 
    o Dr. Dan McChesney, FDA/CVM 
    o Dr. Willem Penning, European Commission 
    o Mr. Pierre Stang, Canadian Food Inspection Agency

Industry and AAFCO Pet Food Committee Roundtable featuring invited representatives from the AAFCO Pet Food Committee and Dr. Bill Burkholder, FDA/CVM.
