AFIA/Eurofins Partner for HACCP and Feed Safety Courses
"Both courses address fundamental components to being in compliance with animal feed regulations and how to produce safe, quality feed," said Henry Turlington, AFIA director of quality and manufacturing regulatory affairs. "The small class size [25 people] allows for conversational instruction during the two seminars."
The interactive HACCP course will focus on developing and implementing an animal food safety plan based on the principles of HACCP. Eurofins training is based on the Codex Alimentarius HACCP guidelines, which formed the foundation for future Global Food Safety Initiative approved safety schemes.
The two-day FAMI-QS workshop is ideal for individuals affected by the new regulatory requirements and seeking FAMI-QS certification. Henry Turlington, AFIA director of quality and manufacturing regulatory affairs, and Alan Baumfalk with Eurofins Food Safety Systems, will discuss the history of FAMI-QS; the importance of FAMI-QS globally; how to implement the FAMI-QS code; European Union regulations and compliance; crisis management; and steps for planning an audit.
