AFIA Hires Graphic Design and Website Specialist
The American Feed Industry Association welcomes Allison Crompton as its new Graphic Design and Website Specialist. Crompton’s first day with the association was March 18.
Crompton will serve as the designer of the “AFIA Journal,” create meeting and event promotional material, design all AFIA-related marketing items and maintain the organization’s four affiliate websites including www.afia.org, which will re-launch with new member-friendly features in the summer of 2014.
“AFIA is excited to welcome Allison onboard, especially during a crucial time in the rollout of our newly redesigned website,” said President and CEO Joel G. Newman. “She brings with her a diverse skillset in both website management and graphic design, which will play a vital role to our legislative and regulatory, communications and events teams here at AFIA.”
Crompton has an extensive background in design, pre-press/production and marketing. She has previously worked in graphic design for Deloitte and ICF International, and also has her own graphic design business.
Crompton graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and also has an Associates of Arts degree from the Art Institute of Washington in graphic design.
In addition to Crompton’s hiring, AFIA has also made internal staff changes to better address the organization’s needs. Katharine Gausmann has been promoted to the newly created Meetings and Events Specialist position. Gausmann formally held a Membership and Meetings Coordinator position with AFIA and has been on staff since January 2013.
Shakera Daley will transition from a part-time employee to a full-time staff member. Daley previously provided support to the Safe Feed/Safe Food Program, which she will continue to do as AFIA’s Accounting and Administrative Coordinator. She will also assume responsibilities in the administration of the new AFIA database system as well as provide administrative support to AFIA’s human resources and accounting departments.
Tracy Manriquez, who has been on staff with AFIA since December 2010, will expand her duties to provide administrative support to the membership and communications department in addition to supporting AFIA’s president and Board of Directors.
