AFIA Shows Support for National Ag Day
The American Feed Industry Association is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 41st National Agriculture Day on Tuesday, March 25. The event, which is celebrated in classrooms and communities nationwide, is hosted by the Agriculture Council of America. This year’s theme is “365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed.”
“AFIA is not only a proud sponsor of the 41st National Ag Day, but a proud contributor of America’s agriculture industry 365 days per year,” said AFIA President and CEO Joel G. Newman.
“Our member company’s play a vital role in the production of healthy, safe and wholesome animal food products that are consumed globally, and AFIA is proud to support an initiative such as Ag Day that allows us to spread knowledge about not just the feed industry but the value agriculture as a whole provides to consumers’ daily lives,” Newman continued.
ACA will also host numerous events in Washington, D.C., which AFIA staff representatives will attend. Events include “Farm to Fork Politics: An insider’s look at the year ahead for food and agriculture,” a U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance “Food Dialogues: The next generation of America’s farmers and ranchers” panel and the annual “Celebration of Ag Dinner.” The HungerU exhibit—a mobile exhibit that travels nationwide educating consumers about the role advanced agriculture plays in putting food on the table—will also make an appearance on the National Mall.
These events and more honor National Agriculture Day and mark a nationwide effort to tell the true story of American agriculture. The celebration also reminds consumers and industry alike that agriculture is a part of us all, every day. ACA expects a number of producers, agricultural associations, corporations, students and government agencies involved in or interested in agriculture to participate.
