Class Information
The American Feed Industry Association will hold an FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food trainings in July 2017. The training material was developed by Food Safety Preventive Control Alliance (FSPCA) and is the “standardized curriculum” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recognizes as adequate for preventive control qualified individual (PCQI) training. Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a PCQI. 

The course will cover:
•    Overview of the FSMA requirements for animal food
•    Current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements
•    Animal food safety hazards
•    Overview of the food safety plan
•    Hazard analysis and preventive controls determination
•    Preventive control management components
•    Process controls
•    Sanitation controls
•    Supply-chain applied controls
•    Recall plans

This course, developed by FSPCA, is the “standardized curriculum” recognized by FDA; successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual.” 


Registration Rates
Early bird rate AFIA members: $650 for online reg.; $700 for paper reg., register by June 16, 2017
Early bird rate non-members: $850 for online reg.; $950 for paper reg., register by June 16, 2017
Regular rate AFIA members: $700 for online reg.; $750 for paper reg., register by July 3, 2017
Regular rate non-members: $950 for online reg.; $1050 for paper reg., register by July 3, 2017
Onsite rate AFIA members: $850, register after July 3, 2017
Onsite rate non-members: $1,105, register after July 3, 2017

Hotel Information
AFIA is pleased to offer registrants a limited number of hotel rooms at the Inn at Opryland at the preferred rate of $159 (plus tax). Participants are responsible for their own hotel reservation. Reservations may be made by contacting the hotel directly (615) 889-0800 to reserve under the group name "AFIA" or “American Feed Industry Association.” The block is available through June 16 or until the block fills up.

Please note that the event is taking place at the Inn at Opryland, 2401 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN 37214, (615) 889-0800. This is a different hotel than Gaylord Opryland Resort and they provide free shuttle service between the two that runs every 20 minutes. If you are taking a taxi from the airport, please be sure to point out the difference to the driver.
