Last week, I had the honor of presenting PerforMix Nutrition Systems’ Rupert, Idaho, feed manufacturing facility with the American Feed Industry Association’s 2021 Liquid Feed Facility of the Year (FFY) award. In coordination with Feedstuffs’ Sarah Muirhead, we presented the award to the facility’s plant manager, Ty Cahoon, before industry colleagues at the AFIA Liquid Feed Symposium.

It’s September. Growing up on the farm that always meant a few things were certain – the corn harvest would start, the air would become crisper and there was a lot of work to do as the days got shorter. In Washington, there is also a level of excitement this time of year as it means Congress is in a mad dash to complete its work before the end of the fiscal year. This year is shaping up to be the same for my family back on the farm and in Congress.

AFIA Invites Students to Present at Pet Food Conference

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is looking for outstanding students to present their research or subject matter reviews at the upcoming AFIA Pet Food Conference. Graduate students will be invited to present their work as speakers during the conference, and undergraduates or graduate students will be invited to present posters. The daylong conference will take place on Jan. 25, 2022, in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, Ga.


AFIA has an Online Buyers’ Guide for members and the public to use to search for feed, pet food, ingredients and equipment.
This is the go-to resource for those within the industry looking to buy products.
