Are you looking for an organization where you can connect with others in the same industry while making your voice heard among lawmakers at the state and national levels? Do you want to know there is somewhere to turn, with experts you can trust, when your company is seeking answers to difficult industry-related questions? And is it important to you and your company to receive up-to-date industry information from an organization that specializes only in animal food? The American Feed Industry Association has provided all of those member benefits and more for more than 100 years to companies searching for just that!

AFIA is the largest trade association representing the feed industry. Aside from being the “Voice of the Total Feed Industry,” AFIA will provide an excellent resource for your company to network with the most influential companies in animal feed, pet food and livestock production. AFIA hosts the largest animal feed trade show in the world, the International Feed Expo, which is part of the International Production & Processing Expo, as well as the largest animal feed and pet food ingredient conference in the world, the Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference – both excellent opportunities for your company to network and conduct business.

membershipIf your company would like to keep abreast of the regulatory climate impacting the animal food industry, AFIA’s expert staff and informational resources provide valuable resources that are unmatched. Whether you are dealing with state feed registrations, understanding the implications of the Food Safety Modernization Act rules, or regulations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency, AFIA can help your company navigate its way through myriad paperwork so you can maintain your competitive edge.

We make four promises to our members:

  1. You will have a voice as part of the total feed industry association;
  2. We will provide expert legislative and regulatory leadership and representation;
  3. We offer confidential individual staff expertise on demand; and
  4. We provide engagement opportunities for specialized training, professional education and networking.

Companies that take full advantage of AFIA’s membership quickly realize that the cost savings and profits realized by AFIA membership outweigh the cost of membership. Membership dues are company-based. Once a company is a member, anyone from that company can benefit from its membership.

For feed manufacturers (both commercial and integrated) and pet food manufacturers, the dues are based on U.S. manufactured tonnage. For ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers and industry support, the dues are based on the dollar sales in the U.S. The minimum dues for an AFIA membership is $2,500 per year.
