The past year has been like no other. On March 11, 2020, when the World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a pandemic, the personal and professional lives of more than 944,000 employees of the U.S. animal food industry forever changed.
As essential workers, our members went to work every day to keep the 9.8 billion livestock and poultry and 135 million dog and cats fed. Even though they faced unprecedented challenges, their passion for and commitment to providing safe, nutritious animal food never waned.
While we can never replace the moments we missed or the people we have lost throughout the pandemic, we know our industry will emerge stronger than ever before. To commend where we have been and recognize where we are going, we are honored to award the AFIA membership the 2021 Member of the Year Award. Hear more about the award below.
We would love to share our Member(s) of the Year! Send photos of your team to Lacie Dotterweich to be included in a Facebook photo album.
