“It’s really exciting to be able to say that the pet food industry really goes all the way back to the farm and then all the way back into those rural communities, supporting those retailers that support the farmer.”
This is the takeaway message Robert Cooper, executive director for the Institute for Feed Education and Research, told Feedstuffs’ editor Sarah Muirhead in an 8-minute podcast interview last week. He highlighted some of the top-level results from a recently released report about the pet food industry’s economic impact across America. The first-of-a-kind research project brought together a unique partnership between the Pet Food Institute and the North American Renderers Association to analyze the ingredients most used in dog and cat foods and the industry’s commitment to sustainability.
