The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is looking for outstanding graduate or post doctorate students in a pet food-related field to present their research papers at the upcoming AFIA Pet Food Conference. The daylong conference will take place on Jan. 28, 2020, in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, Ga.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) honored two individuals in the animal science field last week at the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS)–Canadian Society of Animal Science annual meeting in Austin, Texas. Robert Goodband, Ph.D., of Kansas State University (KSU), received the AFIA-ASAS Non-Ruminant Animal Nutrition Research Award, and Kendall Swanson, Ph.D., of North Dakota State University (NDSU), received the AFIA-ASAS Ruminant Animal Nutrition Research Award.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and the Federation of Animal Science Societies (FASS) are pleased to announce Jerry Spears, Ph.D., of North Carolina State University as the winner of the 2019 AFIA-FASS New Frontiers in Animal Nutrition Award. Spears received the award during the opening session of the 2019 American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) annual meeting in Austin, Texas, on July 8.

Registration is now open for the American Feed Industry Association’s Equipment Manufacturers Conference, being held Nov. 6-8 in Marco Island, Fla. Hosted by AFIA’s Equipment Manufacturers Committee, this annual conference focuses on updating the equipment sector of the feed industry on current issues and trends, providing an environment for learning from educational speakers and industry leaders, and bringing the industry together to network.

The American Feed Industry Association congratulates Adam Lock, Ph.D., of Michigan State University (MSU), for receiving the 2019 AFIA-American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Nutrition Research Award. Ryan Ordway, of Balchem Corporation, presented the award to Lock on behalf of AFIA on June 24 as part of ASDA's annual meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio.
