The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) joined nearly 1,000 organizations representing the U.S. food and agriculture value chain yesterday in calling on members of Congress to swiftly ratify the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

AFIA's Gina Tumbarello to Serve on U.S. Agricultural Trade Advisory Committee

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is pleased to announce that Gina Tumbarello, AFIA’s director of international policy and trade, has been reappointed to serve on the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service’s Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Grains, Feed, Oilseeds and Planting Seeds. Tumbarello has represented AFIA members on the committee since 2014 and provides valuable technical advice and information about U.S. animal food products and the industry to the secretary of agriculture and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).

The American Feed Industry Association is now accepting applications for the 2019 Feed Facility of the Year (FFY) program. Sponsored by AFIA and Feedstuffs, the FFY program is designed to be a world-class benchmarking program for the animal food industry. It recognizes overall excellence in feed manufacturing operations, emphasizing safety, quality, regulatory compliance, employee development and overall operating efficiencies.

The EU-US Feed Industries Join Forces to Tackle Global Challenges Linked to Sustainable and Safe Feed Production

The American and European feed industries, represented by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC), have renewed their longstanding partnership to increase mutual cooperation on sustainable feed production, feed safety management, communication, trade and pre-competitive research. The memorandum of understanding (MOU), signed during FEFAC’s 60th anniversary event on 6 June 2019, is expected to generate significant synergies for the respective member associations and feed companies, offering global joint project and partnership opportunities.
