AFIA Names Constance Cullman As New CEO

The American Feed Industry Association’s Board of Directors has selected Constance Cullman, current president of Farm Foundation, to succeed Joel G. Newman as president and chief executive officer of the association, upon his retirement later this year. She will also become the president of the industry’s public charity, the Institute for Feed Education and Research. Cullman will officially join AFIA on July 29.

Register Now for AFIA's Upcoming PCQI Course

The American Feed Industry Association has opened registration for a Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) for Animal Food training. The course, which will be held July 30 – Aug. 1 at the Inn at Opryland in Nashville, Tenn., is one way to meet the requirements for a preventive controls qualified individual (PCQI).

AFIA Members Donate Over 100K Hours, $56M in 2018

The American Feed Industry Association released the results of its annual charitable giving survey today, revealing an increase over 2017 in the animal food industry’s total donations and volunteer hours in support of charities and community organizations. AFIA member company employees donated a collective 104,000 hours of their time to supporting community service projects in 2018 - a 13 percent increase over 2017. AFIA member companies, including company-employee matches, also donated over $56 million to an expansive list of community causes.

AFIA, Feedstuffs Name Famo Feeds as 2018 Feed Facility of the Year

The American Feed Industry Association and Feedstuffs congratulate Famo Feeds of Freeport, Minn., for being named the 2018 Feed Facility of the Year (FFY). Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs, announced that the family-owned feed company won the award during AFIA’s Feed Production Education Program, held today at the International Production & Processing Expo, happening this week in Atlanta, Ga.

The American Feed Industry Association wrapped up its 12th annual Pet Food Conference yesterday in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), happening this week in Atlanta, Ga. The event brought together approximately 340 industry leaders to discuss everything from regulatory issues to the technical aspects of pet food production to product claims, marketing and nutrition, helping attendees tackle the latest challenges in the evolving marketplace.

The American Feed Industry Association debuted its first nutritional program focused on sow health today in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Ga. The event, “High-Performance Sow – Rethinking Nutrition and Health Interactions,” brought together nearly 100 industry leaders to discuss everything from sow productivity to gut health.
