The American Feed Industry Association and Feedstuffs are proud to announce four category winners for the 2018 Feed Facility of the Year (FFY) program. AFIA congratulates Famo Feeds of Freeport, Minn., as the winner of the commercial dry livestock feed plant category; Koch Foods of Morton, Miss., as the winner of the integrator category; Quality Liquid Feeds of Clovis, N.M., as the winner of the liquid feed plant category; and Trouw Nutrition of Highland, Ill., as the winner of the premix manufacturing plant category.

AFIA Provides New Biosecurity Guidance Following ASF Outbreaks

In light of the recent outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) and other animal diseases, the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has been working on a multi-pronged action plan to: research science-based solutions for mitigating the risks of virus transmission through feed, and communicate any new information and recommendations to the industry and producer groups. As part of this effort, AFIA announced today that it has released an updated version of its biosecurity guidelines.

The American Feed Industry Association’s President and CEO Joel G. Newman formally announced to members today that he will be retiring from the association effective December 2019. The association has formed a selection committee to facilitate the transition process over the next year and hired Kincannon & Reed to assist in recruiting Newman’s successor.

The American Feed Industry Association is proud to announce the launch of its new website to better communicate the animal food manufacturing industry’s key legislative and regulatory priorities to policymakers and the public. The revamped, mobile-responsive website (afia.org) will also feature an optimized search function and resource center that allows its average more than 5,500 monthly web visitors quickly find and share content about the animal food industry.
